Workshop

Workshops are two-hour sessions that should provide active learning for attendees. Participants will engage an issue, learn a new skill, or develop an action plan or other activity where hands-on learning is integral. Workshops should allow for significant involvement and contribution to the learning process from the participants, and the learning experience should excite and encourage the participants to fully engage in the learning process. Participants should leave the session with information to share with their home institutions.

FORMAT:

  • Workshops should not exceed two hours and will be scheduled for the first day of the conference.
  • Session participation will be limited in order to provide a meaningful environment for active learning.
  • Participant computers are not provided as part of the standard equipment.
  • The use of Skype, WebEx, and other web conferencing tools is discouraged. Each workshop room will have Internet access; however, a connection robust enough for effective web conferencing cannot be guaranteed.
