Requested articles usually arrive within 1-3 business days.
Requested books usually arrive within 5-7 business days.
Arrival times may be shorter or longer based on the availability of the item and which library is supplying it. You will receive an email when the item has arrived.
We will scan print items for you that are in the CMU collections, as copyright allows.
Interlibrary loan enables you to obtain items for your research from libraries around the world.
You may request articles, books, book chapters, dissertations, theses, microforms, videos, music, CDs, DVDs, conference proceedings and more that are:
Some items are difficult to obtain, such as references materials, rare books or original manuscripts, and audiovisual materials. It is not the intent of Documents on Demand's interlibrary loan service to borrow textbooks or course required books in lieu of purchase.
Tip 1: Use the Find It! button to have your citation information populate directly into your On Demand Account (ILLiad).
Tip 2: Use the Notes field in the request form to let us know about special information, such as COLOR copies or RUSH. We may not be able to fulfill the special request parameters, but we will try.
Tip 3: If you are having difficulty finding something, send the request to us. We will deliver articles or put books on hold for you, even if they are held in the CMU Libraries' collections.
