Images of Human Rights: South Africa

This guide provides lists of selected resources by and about famous figures of South Africa, as well as the social and political history of that nation.  All the resources listed in this guide are held by Central Michigan University Libraries.  Use the above tabs and scroll down to navigate through the guide.

Although there have been many famous South Africans, this guide focuses on political figures and authors.  You will find resources on and about J.M. Coetzee, Athol Fugard, Nadine Gordimer, Alex La Guma, Nelson Mandela, Ezekiel (Es'Kia) Mphahlele and Alan Paton, among others.  To search for additional resources on South African people, please use SmartSearch.

This guide is a part of the CMU Libraries Diversity Resources Project.  For more information, please contact Librarian and subject specialist Aparna Zambare.
