*How to use Bloomberg: Getting Started

Anyone with a Central Michigan University email address can use the Bloomberg terminals.

These instructions apply to the terminals located in Park Library.  Instructions for terminals in other campus locations may be slightly different.

• Log on using your CMU user name (Global ID) and password
• Select the Bloomberg icon
• Click go or the enter key to go to the Bloomberg login screen
• Enter your Bloomberg login name and password
• If you are a new user click on create a new login
• After creating a new login you will need to have a phone with you so that they can send a confirmation code that you will need to enter (Please silence the phone)

• When you enter Bloomberg select one of the four screens that open, each provides a different function
• In the upper left corner of many screens, there is a flashing blue rectangle with the word help adjacent to it.
• Click on help (it is surrounded by a blue rectangle)
• Click on the box and type BESS
• As you type a screen will open that contains a link to the Bloomberg Essentials Online Training videos
• To listen to the videos you will need headphones or earbuds, if you do not have your own you can borrow headphones from the Book Checkout desk on the 2nd floor

• Exit Bloomberg
• Next sign off of the computer (This step is important, if you do not completely log off the computer someone else can access the computer using your account information)
