The Center for Nonverbal Studies (CNS) is a private, nonprofit research center located in Spokane, Washington. Underway since October 1, 1997, the Center's mission is to advance the study of human communication in all its forms apart from language. The Center's goal is to promote the scientific study of nonverbal communication, which includes body movement, gesture, facial expression, adornment and fashion, architecture, mass media, and consumer-product design.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less).

The website provides information about the ACA, a collection of materials on communication law and First Amendment issues, American Communication Journal, resources for teaching and research in communication studies, and an extensive reference resource page for scholars.

The Interpersonal Communication Division is interested in communication processes that occur between people. Such processes include (but are not limited to) mutual influence, individuals’ adaptations to others, people’s interpretations and reactions to others’ messages, and so forth. Interpersonal communication occurs in many contexts, such as close relationships, organizations, health, intercultural, intergroup, and many others. Interpersonal communication also occurs through a variety of channels, including face-to-face interaction, telephone conversations, and interactions via computers.
The division's goal is to encourage theoretical and practical advances in the study of interpersonal communication.

The National Communication Association advances communication as the discipline that studies all forms, modes, media and consequences of communication through humanistic, social scientific and aesthetic inquiry.

ICA is an academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication.
