ARTstor Digital Library (now referred to as JSTOR Images)
Provides more than 1.8 million digital images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences. To save and download images, register a new account with your CMU credentials.

Flickr Commons
Includes public photo collections. A good place to search for Creative Commons images.
Getty Open Content
The Getty Museum's Open Content Program provides access to thousands of open access, public domain images.
The MET Open Access Images
The MET provides tens of thousands of public domain, high quality images that can be downloaded, shared, and modified.
Smithsonian Open Access Images
Download, share, and reuse millions of the Smithsonian’s images with no restrictions or permissions. Includes 4.4 million 2D and 3D images from across the Smithsonian’s 19 museums, nine research centers, libraries, archives, and the National Zoo.
