Information on diseases and conditions, healthy living, traveler's health advisories, emergency preparedness and more is available on the CDC site.

The mission of the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) is to provide statistical information that will guide actions and policies to improve the health of the American people. As the Nation’s principal health statistics agency, NCHS leads the way with accurate, relevant, and timely data.

The world’s largest biomedical library, NLM maintains and makes available a vast print collection and produces electronic information resources on a wide range of topics that are searched billions of times each year by millions of people around the globe. It also supports and conducts research, development, and training in biomedical informatics and health information technology. In addition, the Library coordinates a 6,500-member Network of the National Library of Medicine that promotes and provides access to health information in communities across the United States.

The mission of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is to enhance the health and well-being of all Americans, by providing for effective health and human services and by fostering sound, sustained advances in the sciences underlying medicine, public health, and social services. Michigan Department of Health and Human Services provides access to data and statistics on health concerns in the State of Michigan. Reports and statistics are available on such topics as birth defects, cancer, communicable diseases, chronic diseases, health disparities, maternal/child health, public health advisories and more.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the lead Federal agency charged with improving the safety and quality of America's health care system. AHRQ develops the knowledge, tools, and data needed to improve the health care system and help Americans, health care professionals and policymakers make informed health decisions. AHRQ creates materials to teach and train health care systems and professionals to put the results of research into practice. It generates measures and data used by providers and policymakers.

ICN has established the Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Network (NP/APN Network) in order to facilitate communication around common professional interests.

The National Institute of Nursing Research is one of 27 Institutes that comprise the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NINR supports clinical and basic research and research training on health and illness across the lifespan. The Institute's research focus encompasses health promotion and disease prevention, quality of life, health disparities, and end-of-life. NINR sponsors research by outside investigators at colleges, universities, and other research sites (Extramural Research) and conducts its own research at NIH (Intramural Research).
