Public Acts are the written laws passed by state legislatures. Public Acts can be published in the form of session laws which are laws (acts) published in numerical order as the laws are passed, reflecting the work of each session of the legislature.
The CMU Library keeps session laws only for the State of Michigan.
Codes or compiled laws are the written laws passed by state legislatures. They can be published as codes or compiled laws that are a reflection of all the laws currently in effect at a specific point in time, arranged by subject.
Each state publishes a set of codes or compiled laws. These can be found in one or more of the following sources.
