Diversity Resources: Diversity @ CMU

The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion offers a number of organizations, programs and activities to support and engage our campus, future and current students, faculty, and staff, as well as the greater community.

"The Multicultural Education Center assists in fulfulling the university's goal of increasing respect and understanding for people of diverse backgrounds and cultures."

The Office of Civil Rights and Institutional Equity offers guidance and advice on the university's non-discrimination affirmative action policies and procedures. Its other functions include assisting departments with recruitment and retention activities and resolving discrimination complaints from students, employees, and others.

"OIA serves international students from more than 70 countries, CMU students who study abroad in more than 30 countries, and faculty who teach and/or research around the world."

Student Disability Services is part of the Office of the Dean of Students and provides services and assistance to CMU students who are either permanently or temporarily disabled.

The Center for Inclusion and Diversity (CID) includes the following offices and programs: Multicultural Academic Student Services, Native American Program, LGBTQ Services, Office of Diversity Education, and MiGEAR UP, as well as three grant programs, Pathways to Academic Student Success, Student Transition Enrichment Program (STEP) and the King Chavez Parks Future Faculty Fellows program.
