Collecting and processing research data involves systematically gathering information and transforming it into a usable format for analysis and interpretation. This process includes gathering observations or measurements, organizing the data, and preparing it for further analysis to answer research questions or test hypotheses.

Collecting Primary Data

Before proposing and initiating any research activity involving primary data collection, researchers should verify with CMU Office of Research Compliance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university requirements for conducting research, as well as required training.
