Finding Films

All films we own are searchable via SmartSearch.

If you want to search for film holdings on certain topics (most of the collection—both physical and streaming formats—are educational or technical films rather than features), do a keyword search of the Library Catalog (from dropdown menu). Once you have your search results, you can limit to Material Type: Audio Visual.  You can further limit results to physical videos by choosing Availability: Available in the Library or streaming videos by choosing Availability: Full Text Online.

Please note that remote students cannot borrow DVDs from the University Library.

Films from the Catalog

Here are a few examples of our film holdings. DVDs are available at the Checkout Desk on the second floor, and streaming films are available to CMU students, staff, and faculty anytime, anywhere. (If off-campus, CMU users will be prompted to type in their CMU Global IDs and passwords to access the streaming titles. Global Campus students cannot borrow DVDs at this time, but streaming videos area available to students regardless of location.
