The World Health Organization has developed these Nurse Educator Core Competencies to enable educators to effectively contribute to the attainment of high quality education, and the production of effective, efficient and skilled nurses who are able to respond to the health needs of the populations they serve.

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is the national voice for academic nursing. AACN works to establish quality standards for nursing education; assists schools in implementing those standards; influences the nursing profession to improve health care; and promotes public support for professional nursing education, research, and practice.

Nursing Education Network. This educational website is created by nurses specifically for nurse educators. Education theory, simulation, research and social media are part of this e-learning experience. The aim is to create a resource for nurses to access, share and develop a learning community using open access resources. The posts we create are based on micro-learning, so they are focused quick snippets for learning on the go.
