Conference Registration

Registration for the 18th Distance Library Services Conference is now closed. Thank you for your interest in the conference.

The registration fee schedule is:

  • Early Bird Registration, January 8-February 18, 2018: $395
  • Registration, February 19-April 2, 2018: $425
  • Graduate students enrolled in an ALA accredited library science program at the time of the conference: $200

The registration fee includes all programming, opening reception dinner, two continental breakfasts, and two buffet lunches.

Can I register on-site at the conference?
There is no on-site registration for the conference.

When is the last day I can register for the conference?
The last day to register for the conference is April 2, 2018.

Can I register for just one day of the conference?
The conference does not offer single-day registration. Attending the full conference ensures sufficient audience attendance and allows attendees to make the most of the sessions and networking opportunities.

Is there a maximum number of people who can attend the conference?
While there is no cap on attendance, one of the notable features of the conference is that it is a relatively small, with attendance usually between 250-300.

How can I pay for my registration (i.e. what forms of payment are accepted)?
You can pay with a credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express), check or purchase order.

What is your refund policy?
Cancelations received prior to March 11, 2018, will receive a 100% refund. Cancelations received after March 11, 2018, will receive a 50% refund. There will be no refunds issued after April 2, 2018.

Do you offer any financial assistance to attend the conference?
We are not able to provide financial assistance to attend the conference.

Do you offer discounted registration for students, first-time attendees or retirees?
Graduate students enrolled in an ALA accredited library science program at the time of the conference can register for $200. Unfortunately, we do not offer discounted registration for first-time attendees or retirees.

Will a virtual component be available (streaming video, recordings, etc.)?
Due to the high cost of providing a virtual conference, we do not currently offer a virtual component. 

Is there a cost associated with attending a pre-conference workshop? How do I register for a workshop?
There is no additional cost to attend a pre-conference workshop. However, the number of participants for each workshop is limited and based on a first-come, first serve basis. To reserve a spot in a specific workshop, contact the conference coordinator.
