Rui Wang is social science librarian, and responsible for collection development and information literacy instruction in the subject areas of Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, Political Science & Public Administration, Psychology, Neuroscience, and Military Science, government information. She is the Official Representative (OR) of the Interuniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) to assist CMU data users.

Teaching/Instruction experiences:

  • Information literacy instruction for social sciences courses CMU

  • Teach LIB 197 "Introduction to Library Information Research" one-credit course CMU.

  • Advisor of the Honors Program Capstone Project, semesters 2015, “College Students’ Attitudes Toward Racial Issues in the Post-Civil Rights Movements Era” invited by CMU Honor Program and requested by the student.

  • Taught an independent study (3 credits) for the Honors Program at CMU, spring semester 2015. “Social Movements,” invited by the Honor Program and requested by the student in the CMU Honor Program

  • Taught the online course LIS 6120 Access to Information, for School of Library and Information Science Wayne State University 2009.

  • Taught face-to-face courses, SYG 2000 "Introduction to Sociology" and SYG 2010 "Social Problems" 1999-2002 Indian River Community College

  • Taught online courses for Library Technical Assistant Program, Indian River Community College, 2000-2002
