Travel & Transportation

Please note there is no special conference rate or coordination by the DLS Conference for transportation services. The information is provided as a courtesy.

Pittsburgh International Airport

Most of the major airlines fly to Pittsburgh International Airport, including Air Canada, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, and United.

Driving Directions to the Omni William Penn Hotel (current traffic conditions)

FROM PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – 30 MINUTES/19 MILES
Follow the signs to Pittsburgh via I-279 North (Fort/Pitt Bridge and Tunnel). Go through the tunnel. Take the Liberty Avenue Exit (straight off the bridge). Proceed approximately 3 blocks and turn right on Sixth Avenue. At the third intersection, turn right onto William Penn Place. The hotel is located on the left.

FROM THE NORTH — VIA I-79 SOUTH
Take I-79S to I-279S. Proceed on I-279S to I-579S (Veteran's Bridge). From I-579S take the Sixth Avenue/Exit (Mellon Arena), bear right on Sixth Avenue and cross Grant Street. Go one block and turn left on William Penn Place to the hotel's main entrance on the left.

FROM THE SOUTH & WEST — VIA I-79 NORTH
From I-79N, follow the signs to I-376 East to Pittsburgh. Follow I-376E to Pittsburgh (Fort/Pitt Tunnel.) Go through the tunnel. Take the Liberty Avenue Exit (straight off the bridge). Continue for approximately 3 blocks. Turn right on Sixth Avenue. At the third intersection, turn right onto William Penn Place. The hotel is located on the left.

FROM THE EAST — VIA I-76W & I-376W
Take I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) and exit on to I-376W towards Pittsburgh. Take the Grant Street Exit (on the left) to Grant Street. Follow Grant Street 6 blocks to Sixth Avenue and then turn left onto Sixth Avenue. Immediately turn left onto William Penn Place to the hotel's main entrance.

Parking

Self-parking is offered in the Mellon Square parking garage located across from the hotel ($19/night Monday through Friday; $5/night on Saturday and Sunday). There are no in/out privileges for this lot.

Valet parking is available to overnight guests ($34 per night) and includes in/out privileges.

Public Transportation

Public transportation options from/to Pittsburgh International Airport include:

• Airport Flyer (28X): One-way fare is $3.75, paid on entering the bus (exact change recommended). This is a city bus that makes several stops en route to downtown Pittsburgh. It is approximately a 45 minute ride from the airport to the stop located at 7th & William Penn, one block from the hotel. 
• Taxi Service: Approximately $40
• Private Car Service: $65 – $70
• Shuttle Service: Approximately $25 one way per person/$50 round trip per person
  • Shuttle service is available 24 hours – an appointment is needed after 6:00 p.m.
  • Shuttle reservations must be made 6 – 12 hours in advance
  • $25 one-way per person
  • $50 round-trip per person

Adjacent to the hotel is the “T” or Pittsburgh Metro System (links all points of downtown Pittsburgh and Station Square). The metro is free in the downtown area and stops include:

• Steel Plaza at One Mellon Center (hotel station)
• Gateway Center
• Wood Street
• Station Square – located across the river (entertainment complex, restaurants and shopping)
